Blueprint

The Fountainhead Playbook

From research to launch in three phases: Discover, Build, and Prove.

How the work moves.

Scroll to walk an engagement from the first messy brief to a system someone can actually run. Each stop is a decision point, not a status meeting.

Week 0

Start with the mess.

A prototype, a fragile MVP, a spreadsheet, or a pile of notes. We begin with the current state, not a blank canvas.

Discover

1–2 weeks

Research, strategy, and the plan that makes everything else possible.

Before we open the IDE, we open the constraints. We analyze the market, the stack, and the users. The result answers a key question:

what should this system actually do, and for whom?

What you leave with

  • Competitor / landscape read (when relevant)
  • Problem framing and success tests
  • Risk map ranked by business impact
  • Information architecture or engagement plan
  • A brief that explains every major decision

Build

2–6 weeks

Concepts, slices, and the execution that turns insight into software.

This is where research meets delivery. We turn the Discover brief into working vertical slices, validate direction early, and keep you in every meaningful decision.

What you leave with

  • Working vertical slices you can demo
  • Validated technical direction, not guesswork
  • Architecture notes and interface contracts
  • Instrumentation from day one
  • Clear owners and next-phase options

Prove

1–4 weeks

Production readiness, evidence, and everything your team needs to run it.

Once direction is locked, we harden what matters: auth, observability, operability, and the docs that make ownership stick. You leave with proof, not just files.

What you leave with

  • Launch-ready or diligence-ready artifacts
  • Runbooks, specs, and ownership map
  • Demoable proof against success tests
  • Handoff your team can actually use
  • Optional ongoing partnership for the next cycle

What stays constant across every engagement.

No matter the scope, these things are always true when you work with us:

You talk to the people doing the work.

No middlemen. The same team researches the problem and ships the solution.

You see progress constantly.

No disappearing for weeks. We share work early and often, so there are no surprises.

Artifacts are production-ready.

Developers and operators don’t have to guess. Specs, decisions, and ownership are explicit.
